If you ever “imported contacts”, perhaps from your GMail address book, then LinkedIn will offer you those repeatedly as new connections to “invite” to your network.
If you want to stop that, go to https://www.linkedin.com/mynetwork/contacts/imported/ then select all and Delete them. Note that this will not delete anyone from your LinkedIn connections, just the pointless email contacts.
If everything went well, the above URL should now display something like “You don’t have any imported contacts”. Congratulations!

It’s been a while since I checked the “inbox” of my WordPress blog. I just approved both of your comments.

First, that page does not exist, second, when I go to the correct page, https://www.linkedin.com/mynetwork/import-contacts/saved-contacts/, THERE ARE NO BOXES TO CHECK. If you have another suggestion please advise – thank you!
Sorry Greg, but I posted that advice in 2018 and probably LinkedIn has changed their site since then.
I don’t use LinkedIn anymore, so unfortunately I cannot help. If you figure something out, please feel free to share it in another comment here, for others to see.
